An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM card built into your device. Instead of inserting a physical card, you scan a QR code or enter an activation code, and a carrier profile is downloaded directly to your device. You can store multiple eSIM profiles and switch between them without touching hardware.
Go to Settings > Cellular (iOS) or Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs (Android). If you see 'Add eSIM' or 'Add a plan', your device is compatible.
Choose a provider (Airalo, MobiMatter, Saily, Holafly) and select a plan for your destination. You will receive a QR code via email.
Scan the QR code in your device's eSIM settings. The profile downloads in seconds. Do this on Wi-Fi before you travel.
Enable the eSIM profile in your cellular settings. Set it as your data line. Keep your home SIM active for calls and SMS.
Device must be unlocked
Your device must be carrier-unlocked to use an eSIM from a different provider. Contact your home carrier to unlock your device before traveling.
